this is my song! its so me bold & true

It's four in the afternoon
I'm on a flight leaving L.A.
Trying to figure out my life
My youth scattered along the highway

Hotel rooms and headlines
I've made a living with a song
Guitar as my companion
Wanting desperately to belong

Fame is filled with spoiled children
We grow fat on fantasy
I guess that's why I'm leaving
I crave reality

So goodbye Alice in Wonderland
Goodbye yellow brick road
There is a difference between dreaming and pretending
I did not find paradise
It was only a reflection of my lonely mind searching
For what's been missing in my life

I'm embarassed to say
the rest is rock and roll cliche
I hit the bottom when I reached the top
I never knew it was you
who was breaking my heart
I thought you had to love me
But you did not

Yes, a heart can hallucinate
If it's completely starved for love
It can even turn monsters
Into angels from above

You forged my love just like a weapon
And turned it against me like a knife
You broke my last heartstring
You opened up my eyes

So goodbye Alice in Wonderland
Goodbye yellow brick road
There is a difference between dreaming and pretending
That was not love in your eyes
It was only a reflection of my lonely mind wanting
what's been missing in my life

Growing up is not an absence of dreaming
It's being able to understand the difference between the ones you can hold
And the ones that you've been sold
Dreaming is a good thing
Cause it brings new things to life
But pretending is an ending that Perpetuates a lie
Forgetting what you are seeing
For what you've been told

Truth is stranger than fiction
This is my chance to get it right
Life is much better without all those pretty lies

So Goodbye Alice in Wonderland
You can keep your yellow brick road
There is a difference between dreaming and pretending
These are not tears in my eyes
They are only a reflection of my lonely mind finding
They are only a reflection of my lonely mind finding
I've found what's missing in my life

hongkong!

the story has yet to be told!

although our stay in hong kong was only overnight, hongkong has been a part of my journey - a portion of my destiny!

after a tearful night and a throat-clenching farewell, a moment of truth has arrived – i am about to ride a plane that will change my life forever.

while waiting for the first class passengers, i saw an old friend – Marla! and golly, was i ever happy. i forgot my fluffy eyes as i waved at her and asked if she will also take the same plane. it turned out that her family will be visiting hong kong for a vacation. yummy! good for her!

and so hongkong!

we got stuck in the airport for four hours!

they have a very tricky airport! we wanted to go to the second floor but for some glorious reason, we just can't... we tried the elevator, twice! but it took us to different places and weird scenarios, and worse, when we thought we finally made it, we were transported us back to our humble beginnings! very much like that of a maze! what makes it harder was most people can’t speak English.

at around 5:00, we thought of riding the train. afterall, it’s the only one we haven’t tried. and yes, they have a train inside the airport. and voila! hello second floor! eheheh!

we hurriedly looked for things to eat ( we were super hungry!) and then wondered on how we can eventually get out of the airport. *yes, we're still here* after asking several information booth, passerby, few janitors and again tried our luck by following some people in-line. we finally found our way out.

wheeew! at long last! *eyes-rolling and rolling* and *tongue panting*

our hotel!

this is the hotel's mini-bar just beside the lobby.

jopet welcomes you to hongkong! mabuhay!!!

we wanted to discover hongkong….and again, after a few lost in space adventures, we just settle in this place. this is outside of their mall. it looks like a garden with a playground and there were displays of artworks.

another one! me and my sis!

Hongkong by night! my muni-muni shot gazing the city lights.

the napkin!

– synonymous with tablecloth, rag, napkin with wings (lol!)

i had my monthly period! i did not have anything with me. the natural action is to call the room service that eventually lead into a series of trials and errors. i even took the napkin wrapper fresh from the trash can that my sister used and showed it to them. but still! they did not get it! horrible! the remedy? secret! :p

so again…hongkong!
    • i should have taken a chinese class in college, the trip would have been less complicated, and i would have a napkin! loll
    • the people (janitors, bagger, room service peeps, taxi driver) that served us look like the richest people in the Philippines. well, they are Chinese!

    • the airport. don't ask.
